Following the fires and drop in tourism, many businesses in the Scenic Rim have been struggling to stay afloat. “Rising from the fires in the Scenic Rim” is a short movie in the making, about the many wonderful things to do in the Canungra Valley and the surrounding townships. And in filming it, I’ve come across some amazing people and their businesses. Australian Bush Buddies is just one of them. Lou is a demonstrator of rare, vulnerable and endangered Australian wildlife, and the magic she brings along with her is electric. Unplanned and on the spur of the moment, Australian Bush Buddies gave me the pleasure of creating a short movie for them, that tries to capture just some of the magic and the pure joy animals bring to all ages. In return for this, she talks in this movie about why anyone should come and visit this spectacular place.

They say the eyes are windows to the soul. Well, you just can’t hide pure joy when interacting with animals. I’ve tried to capture just that in this wee movie.
